Level 2 Teaching Assistant

£350-450 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

About the role

This ‘Good with Outstanding Features’ SEND school, based in North Tyneside, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work in either Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Level 2 Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, ADHD, PMLD, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This full time Level 2 Teaching Assistant role is long term from September ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Level 2 Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
  • Relevant Level 2 Qualification: Level 2 Teaching Assistant / Level 2 Health and Social Care / Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning / Level 2 Childcare
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
  • A passion for the progress of SEND EYFS, primary, secondary and post-16 school pupils
  • An ability to work as part of a team

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
