Job Description
Director of IT Technology & Delivery is a senior leadership role within Thermo Fisher Digital and IT organization in China. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the IT technology and solution-build capabilities including IT infrastructure, application development, Operations, Automation & AI etc.
This position plays a crucial role in defining IT strategy and execution in the country, aligning with the company's overall business objectives and global IT strategy, and ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management & Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership and guidance in the areas of IT infrastructure, End-user support, IT operations, Application Development, IT Automation, AI Applications, and vendor management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage delivery projects successfully and effectively.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for the team.
- Build and nurture a high-performance team, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Manage annual project and operational budget.
Strategy & Delivery:
- Collaborate and align with global and regional IT organizations in setting up strategies.
- Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with the company’s business and digital goals.
- Oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects and solutions, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Build and operate a robust IT infrastructure to support business operations and end users.
- Collaborate with IT business partners and business analyst teams in providing digital solutions to meet the demand from commercial and functions.
- Define major application technology framework, architecture, and solution landscape.
- Maintain relationships with technology and IT delivery vendors, negotiate vendor contracts and guide relationships with outsourced IT vendors.
- Establish and monitor IT system/application performance and business application usage relative to goals.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of proven IT/Digital experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles. MNC experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking and visionary with a track record of execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
