- Preparation of bidders lists in conjunction with project manager and client (if applicable).
- Processing valid requisitions.
- Recommending and obtaining approvals for purchase.
- Issuing purchase orders, subcontracts and changes orders.
- Expediting vendor information, equipment, deliveries and services.
- Implementing and maintaining an effective material management system.
- Maintaining purchasing records.
- Ensures that all procurement activities are performed in accordance with applicable project procedures.
- Ensures that contractual obligations are fulfilled, as required.
- Regularly checks performance against project schedule and budget and keeps the Project Manager informed of deviations or potential deviations.
- Prepares and issues reports as required, including commitment reports and material status reports.
- Provides on the job training for assigned procurement personnel to ensure their effective performance.
- Ensures that all procurement activities are carried out in the most cost-effective manner.
- Sourcing of subcontractors/vendors and expediting of the delivery of purchased products.
- Selection of subcontractors and vendors based on their quotations. In addition, to assist the Procurement head in evaluation of subcontractor/vendor’s quality system.
- Experience in using ERP will be an added advantage.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Degree in procurement or engineering discipline.
At least 10 to 15 years of procurement experience/negotiating and order management experience.
Experience in working for civil /building construction projects.
Experience of sourcing in local and overseas vendor management.
Good understanding of quotation and contract’s terms and conditions. Negotiation Skill is necessary.
ERP, SAP, Supplier Relationship Management and Material Management will be an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of shipments.
Able to work independently and as a group in a fast pace environment.
