After School Club Practitioner
We are looking for a committed Play Leader qualified to NVQ level 3 in childcare or equivalent to lead our thriving Breakfast & After School Club, five afternoons per week during the school term. There will also be an opportunity to work during the school holidays. The person appointed will help manage a small team of play workers and be responsible for providing interesting and enjoyable wrap-around school care to children from our school. The Club is open to 24 places at the clubs, but we anticipate this will increase with time. The successful candidate will enjoy working with children, be able to plan and provide a range of interesting play opportunities for age groups, be effective at working within a small team, flexible and hard working.
Knowledge
- Understand the key issues relating to quality play-care with reference to project administration
- Understand the key issues and procedures relating to safeguarding children
- Understand the key issues of equal opportunities in this field of work.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the family and community needs of parents and children
- Demonstrate an understanding of working in partnership with schools and other agencies
- Understand the range of needs which children and their families may have
- Understand the key issues relating to quality play-care

- Understand the key issues and procedures for Safeguarding Children
