The Epic Systems Analyst is a subject matter expert between surgical services and EPIC EMR and acts as a bridge between operational workflow and technology. You would work with our customers to ensure Epic and other applications are effective and efficient to use. This requires digesting new technology and recommending best courses of action. Consistent collaboration and open communication with our customer and IT staff is key to providing successful resolutions of concerns and implementations of new technology. You will be 1 of 2 on the Optime/Anesthesia team but will cross collaborate with all epic teams to achieve goals. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage small department projects and participate in large IT projects
  • Develop innovative and efficient workflows within the technology our customers use
  • Assess new software applications and hardware for efficiency, effectiveness, and financial soundness or return on investment. Turn this assessment into a presentable format for our customers
  • Partner and meet with our customers regularly to enhances our services
  • Create and update instructional and administrative documentation for the technology we support. Educate our customers as needed
  • Create comprehensive test plans for planned changes and maintain detailed notes for validation reviews
  • Meet SLAs for break/fix and service requests tickets
  • Remain informed on legislative, community, and customer operational changes to ensure our managed applications and hardware remain operable
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
  • Assure patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality as appropriate or required to meet HIPAA standards
  • Attends and represents team on various Epic-related committees
  • Assists in developing project plans and details
  • Ensures the research and documentation of project requirements, test plans, testing, and validation is completed
  • Follow organization governance and change management workflows and requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Epic Optime/Anesthesia Certification
  • 2+ years working in a technically related role
  • 2+ years of experience with corporate related hardware, system process and/or software applications
  • 2+ years of experience working with either internal or external stakeholders/customers
  • 2+ years of experience with Epic Optime and Anesthesiology
  • 1+ years of experience Epic Acute EMR
  • Proven ability to participate in on-call after hours rotation. Estimated at to occur for 1 week every 2-3 months
  • Proven ability to participate in projects and upgrades requiring after hours availability


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in a healthcare IT related field
  • ClinDoc Certification, proficiency, or experience
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT industry
  • Surgical experience
  • Proven ability to analyze business issues and needs
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fully proficient

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
